Hypnotherapy – Deborah Pearce (AHD, HPD)
After a career initially in IT and then charity senior management, Deborah moved back to her native Devon in 2003. Taking that step back to her roots enabled her to change focus and explore life-long interests, such as finding out more about how the mind works.
In 2008 Deborah qualified as a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist and began practising in and around East Devon. She was particularly drawn to the Solution Focused approach as it fits well with her instinctive philosophy of moving towards a positive outcome, rather than ruminating about what went wrong. It’s very much about ‘here we are, how do we get to where we want to be’.
Since graduating Deborah has helped many hundreds of clients overcome conditions as diverse as anxiety, depression, fears and phobias, weight management, sleep issues, confidence, motivation, sports performance, calmer childbirth and much more.
In 2010 Deborah co-founded the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH), a professional association dedicated to supporting practitioners in this innovative therapeutic approach. In 2017 Deborah gained the Advanced Hypnotherapy Diploma, which is amongst the highest qualifications in Hypnotherapy. She is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), giving clients reassurance that her qualifications are of the highest standard.
Deborah has kept her skills up to date by attending additional courses to enhance her skills, and has become a supervisor and hypnotherapy trainer, helping others to become qualified and competent practitioners.
What can I expect when I see a Hypnotherapist?
Clients are often surprised that we do not seek to understand why they are feeling like they are feeling. Instead, using solution focused questioning techniques we identify positive steps towards your preferred future.
Having established a positive mind-set, we then enhance the therapeutic work with hypnotic trance. Again, clients are often surprised at how easy it is to go into trance; in fact it is not unlike daydreaming. The difference is that, whilst in that highly focused state, our minds are more receptive and better able to absorb the benefits of the therapeutic work.
Deborah offers a free initial consultation, which lasts around 30-45 minutes, so that you two can explore how hypnotherapy can help you. Subsequent sessions last 50-55 minutes.
As with anything worth doing, success is dependent on your commitment and determination, so be prepared for change!
